Finding Central
Located within Ward 5, boundaries of the Central neighborhood lie between E. 22nd Street to the West; Woodland to Grand Avenues to the East; Euclid Avenue to the North and E. 70th to Woodland Cemetery to the South.
Midtown Corridor at the northern border is a vital commercial area. St. Vincent Charity Hospital has been prominent at its E. 22nd Street and Central Avenue location since its establishment there in 1865.
At E. 38th Street and Central Avenue, Central Commons is a newer development of single-family homes occupying a four-block square. The Central neighborhood also contains more than 4,000 public housing units owned by the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA).
