Focusing on those most in need…

Health Policy

Access to health care and other opportunities for good health remain a critical health disparity. Too many people remain uninsured or disenfranchised from a complex health care system. To improve health outcomes for people in our community, the Foundation advances policy change that will improve the availability and quality of health care for those most in need.

The Foundation engages in public policy through its grantmaking, convening, and participation in public-private partnerships and collaborations with other foundations. Support is targeted at few key areas in the public policy spectrum, including:

  • Research and building awareness,
  • Collaborations engaged in advocacy, and
  • Empowerment of individuals, both to participate in advocacy and to understand and access public programs.

The Foundation also supports the policy goals of the Catholic Health Association of the United States, summarized in “Our Vision for U.S. Health Care”.
