Marion Sterling Emerald Dance Team
 
 
Marion- Sterling’s 5th grade Emerald Dance team won the gold medal at the Dancing Classrooms of Northeast Ohio’s Colors of the Rainbow Team Match for the second consecutive year. The team performed their award winning dance on Cleveland’s local Fox 8 Morning News on May 20, 2010 (pictured above). Dancing Classrooms Northeast Ohio teaches a dance curriculum in participating Cleveland School District schools under the mission to build social awareness, confidence and self-esteem in children through the practice of social dance. Congratulations Marion-Sterling!

Jasper Wood's photographs highlighting Central residents during the 1940s and 50s are are on display at the Cleveland Public Library. Focused on the jazz scene on Scovill Avenue, Wood captured many subjects including Arthur "Montana" Taylor, one of the great innovators in American boogie-woogie piano music.
